It seems like these days, crypto and blockchain startups are a dime a dozen. But how many of them are really making a difference and how can the ones that are making a difference, really differentiate themselves in an industry where too many companies, look and feel the same.
For XD Academy, we knew that our target audience was crypto-curious professionals and lifelong learners who wanted to safely explore crypto and blockchain without having to go all in. If we created a brand, digital experience and web app that looked the same as every new “cutting-edge technology” crypto or blockchain company and wasn’t inherently welcoming and relatable, we’d be pushing away highly profitable segments of the market. With that in mind, we set out to create a brand identity, digital experience and web app that communicated “new and exciting”, but could also appeal to a mass market.
• We made sure the colors were vibrant and sophisticated, moving away from existing color palettes that used more muted combinations.
• We used sharp, clean elements with copy that addressed the pains and concerns of XD Academy’s best-fit customers.
• We incorporated scalability of design into every touchpoint to ensure consistency can be maintained across marketing channels.
• We designed user journeys for course completion that visually matched front-end aesthetics, including rewards such as NFTs.
